Parking on someone drive
Some idiot has parked on my driveway blocking my wife from parking, im at work so cant do anything about it. He was there for about 20 mins, anyway of finding out who he is from the number plate? Im sure there isnt as that would cause many other issues but its really wound me up.

if its a one off I'd ignore it and calm down

if the cunt makes a habit of it, tell him/her they're not welcome and to off and park elsewhere

Re: Parking on someone drive
That would have been my option had I been in doors, when he moved my wife told him the same and he said there was no where else and he would have got a ticket and laughed, which is what annoyed me more.

To off will be used going forward!

One iron used to make me laugh… if he was running late for the game he’d park up on someone’s driveway and stick £20-00 through the letter box…

Jay,

Put some gates up or a retractable bollard if it becomes a regular occurrence. Not sure what the old bills stance would be, it may come under trespassing.

should have blocked the prick in with own car and demanded £50 release fee

Re: Parking on someone drive
It's fucking disgusting and never excusable. You do not ever know what that person might need to get out for. It's actually technically illegal as you're blocking an emergency exit.

I live a hundred yards from an infant/junior school and the parents are the rudest, most entitled bunch of scumbags I've ever known. They just couldn't give a fuck - heaven forbid that their precious little Junior Wanker walk a little further. On any of their big events you can't park anywhere.

One blocked my garage on the day of their fete (or something) - a day I had to take my 90-something nan to an appointment. I went to the fete and got them to announce it several times with no success. When finally the bird came back (at the end), she said she "Didn't think it was serious".

My favourite excuse is: "It was an emergency -my son is in the school play........ rehearsal". She was not invited to block my garage again.

Eventually I lost patience with having to drive around looking for somewhere to park and just started parking my car across the gates of the school. They said that was a fire hazard, but with how the parents were parking down the road a fire engine could never have got there anyway.

After years of asking for help, Havering Council reacted and helped - by taking away ALL of our parking bays. After a couple of days of nothing wider than a Smart Car getting down any road (ambulances, Police cars etc), they gave us some back. Parents still park where they like and Havering still do nothing about garage/drive blocking.

Official advice is to call the Council to get it towed. And yes, I think that is 100% justified.

I used to work in highways

It's an odd one actually - council can't help as it's private land

Police don't really care - it's sort of trespassing but not a matter they will urgently deal with.

I get annoyed enough that people down my road park opposite our drive about 3 feet from the curb so you can't get the car off it - my missus is regulalrly late for work because she gets trapped in. Must be even more galling when the person is just intentionally being a cunt

Re: Parking on someone drive
i parked 'up' the curb near my house because the road is particularly narrow at that point.
the next morning i found a printed note in a plastic wallet on my car telling me i was parked illegaly and the authorities had been informed. i wasnt anywhere near someones drive or access.

some people have too much time on their hands.

Re: Parking on someone drive
It's an offence to block someone's drive preventing onto the public highway but, believe it or not, it is not an offence to prevent them getting onto their own driveway.

Bit of a bugger that. Police are too busy stopping people slashing the publics head off to worry about shit like this.

Just pull the cunts windscreen wipers off and lob them in the road.

Re: Parking on someone drive
And that has always been what the school says - call the Police. Obviously I've never done that as that's a disgusting waste of Police time and money. It's a ridiculous thing to say when really they should just try and 'police' the parents a little like many other schools do.

Re: Parking on someone drive
Id smash the windscreen. and leave it at that.

What will they do? knock and complain?

Then I'd say, yea I've had these people targeting the cars and smashing the windows, it happens around here.
cant do anything about it.
Maybe dont park on this road next time?

Fivetide 4:11 Tue Jun 13
Re: Parking on someone drive
I'd just park further up my driveway, maybe near the gatehouse or stable block.

Re: Parking on someone drive
Some cracking advice there, cheers all. It does seem to be happening a bit more often of late, especially with the blocking our car in, a retractable bollard or gates will solve the first issue so thats a must.
